audioverité FAQ

Currently there is no documentation for the program so this will have to server for now.

Whats with the name "audioverité"?
As mentioned in the history, the name of the program was originally Audiosalad. When I took it over I had to come up with a new name but wanted to keep the graphics. At the time I happened to be listening to the song Video Vérité by Blue Peter.

audioverité is pronounced "audio vertay" and basically means audio truth. I believe it is an expression that came from the time of the second world war and was used with regard to radio broadcasts but am not sure. And yes I know it should be audiovérité.

On Linux the file dialog is has garbage for characters.
Go to the jdk installation directory and under jre/lib copy the file font.properties.Redhat8.0 to font.properties. This should also get rid of error messages on startup that look like:
Warning: Cannot convert string "-b&h-lucida-medium-r-normal-sans-*-140-*-*-"
I'm having trouble on Windows.
Isn't everybody. I don't use Windows so it is the least supported platform. If you can give me explicit instructions on how to recreate the problem and even better, how to fix it, I will try to look into it. Otherwise my best advice is to reinstall your operating system, preferably with one that works.
I click on the icon on windows and nothing happens.
Try editing the file audioverite.cfg with a text editor and setting the java.runtime.exe to point to the javaw.exe program on your system.
How do I whine and complain about problems with audioverité?
